Located within Griffith Park, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens (commonly known as the LA Zoo) is one of Southern California’s premier wildlife attractions and event destinations. Opened in 1966, the zoo spans more than 130 acres and is home to over 1,700 animals representing more than 270 species from around the world. In addition to its renowned wildlife exhibits and botanical collections, the LA Zoo hosts a variety of seasonal festivals, educational programs, private events, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the year.
